The SM-101QD-2 BALLISTIC ADJUSTMENT MOUNT (BAM) – which is currently in use with European
NATO forces – is an ambidextrous quick-detachable Aimpoint® CompM4 mount with built-in
ballistic compensation and high repeatability for specific distances using 5.56 NATO ammunition.
The BAM allows the user to aim into the target with the red dot sight rather than using holdovers at
targets farther than 200 meters away.
The BAM is designed to be used together with an Aimpoint® CompM4 and has provisions for
mounting an Aimpoint® 3XMAG-1 or 6XMAG-1 magnifier in an Aimpoint twist or flip mount (not
supplied with the SM-101QD-2) aligned behind the sight. The Aimpoint® CompM4 can be replaced
with a different optic by using a Picatinny interface in the cradle of the bridge (other interfaces can
be made to order).
