In 1915–1916, the British Admiralty purchased approximately 4,000 of these rifles to arm Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS) personnel and auxiliary/patrol craft, freeing up standard military service rifles like the Lee-Enfield for front-line troops. Very few of these guns remain; this is your opportunity to own a piece of history!
